The long-awaited Sin City sequel A Dame to Kill For opens in Irish cinemas today, on the back of disappointing reviews and an underwhelming opening box office in the US.
Like its predecessor, what jumps out immediately is the film's hyper-stylised effects - with its stark black and white imagery and heavy use of CGI, it goes all out to recreate the style of Frank Miller's original graphic novel series (Miller is also the film's co-director). Almost ten years after the first film, it's still eye-catching.
But what does it all look like without all that extravagant post-production? There's no better time to have a look at this fascinating selection of 'B-roll' from the new film, which highlights just how much work is done between filming and release.
