The Arkle Trophy Chase ended in an exciting photo-finish as Western Warhorse pipped favourite Champagne Fever to victory.
After Ruby Walsh had triumphed in the Supreme Novices Hurdle, the Irish rider would suffer disappointment in the second race of the day.
He made all the running under Champagne Fever in the Arkle but was pipped on the line by 33/1 outsider Western Warhorse who was ridden by jockey Tom Scudamore and trained by David Pipe.
The third race of the day was the Baylis and Harding Handicap Chase, which went to 10-/1 shot Holywell to give veteran trainer Jonjo O'Neill his 23rd winner at Cheltenham.
Holywell get in. Given it by Kevin Doyle this morning, his dad bred it. Well done to all involved...
