West Ham chairman David Gold has confirmed that he accidentally favourited a tweet that endorsed the sacking of manager Sam Allardyce.
Gold says he did so following a 33-hour flight from New Zealand and claims that he made the mistake due to jetlag.
He added that he would never intentionally endorse a tweet that questions the manager's position.
Meanwhile, West Ham have completed the capture of Enner Valencia, who scored three times at the World Cup.
The Ecuador striker has been granted a work permit to move to the UK, meaning that he can make the switch from a Mexican club.
The arrival of Valencia will be a timely boost to the Hammers after last week's news that star striker Andy Carroll is facing four months out of action with an ankle injury.
