Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out signing former striker Thierry Henry on a playing deal this season.
The 36-year-old Frenchman, who now plays for the New York Red Bulls, is back in training with his old club during the MLS off-season.
But, despite a lack of striking cover this season, Wenger insists that his former captain will not be brought-back on a temporary loan deal.
However, the Gunners boss has not rule-out the possibility of Henry joining the coaching staff at the Emirates in the future.
"He's invited just to practice when he can and when he wants. We have a big staff and a very competent one and we have the right number to support the team achieve the targets. Thierry is a player but one day it could be different," said Wenger.
