Warren Gatland says he expects a negative reaction from Irish supporters at the weekend when Ireland face Wales in their second match of this years Six Nations tournament.
It follows his decision to leave Brian O'Driscoll off the Lions squad during their tour last summer.
Speaking on The Pat Kenny Show this morning, Gatland said he wrote a Christmas card to Brian with the hope his influence would limit the booing:Meanwhile, Brian has vented his frustration at a tweet from BT's Craig Doyle this morning about a forthcoming interview in which they said they will be focusing on his absence from that particular match. That tweet has since been deleted.
This was O'Driscoll's response:
@btsport @craigadoyle thanks for that. One question in an interview & you put it in the headline. Typical.
