It's January 1996. Garth Brooks is still king, we win Eurovision with our eyes closed and Irish football has been plunged into a whole new era.

Yes, Big Jack Charlton has just called it a day after leading the Boys in Green to unprecedented heights.

And cross-channel, Newcastle United are odds on to win the FA Carling Premiership, while Liverpool have an exciting young team that is bound to bring the league back to Anfield sooner rather than later.
