Jamie Heaslip has today spoken about how were "blown away" by the support the team received at the Rugby World Cup.

The Ireland and Leinster No.8 was speaking to Newstalk Lunchtime from the opening day of the Web Summit where he was speaking with former NFL star Tiki Barber the the RDS crowd.

Ireland's World Cup journey ended almost two and a half weeks ago and Heaslip told Jonathan Healy he left the country for a week when the side returned from Wales. "That was good to get away and to get a bit of head space and just not have the structure we have had in the last three months".

Heaslip said the team were "blown away" by the support they received from the fans in London and Cardiff. "The Irish people were proud of the effort that was put in. That's what we tried to do".

The 31 year old told Newstalk Lunchtime "it's unhealthy to be fascinated by one thing" when speaking about his business interests outside the sporting field.
