While the Kerry team lap up the plaudits from their All Ireland final, emotions are different for the losing side.

Donegal had come into yesterday's decider as favourites but succumbed to a 2-9 to 0-12 defeat.

Manager Jim McGuinness spoke to Oisin Langan after the match and he said that there were "no excuses" for his team.

"There were pivotal moments in the game but over the course of the 70 minutes our performance level wasn't good enough to win the game," he admitted, picking out the two Kerry goals as two key factors.

He also said it was too early to tell why Donegal were not able to match the levels of their dissection of Dublin. But he did know before hand that Kerry would press.

"We knew exactly how they were going to set up. We knew there were going to be eight or nine players along the '45, four or five inside the '45 and four or five outside playing a pressing game and leaving their full-backs a wee bit exposed. So it's up to you in that situation to get your head up and keep the ball moving, don't take it in to contact and have the ability to look inside and look for that pass and we didn't do that enough," said McGuinness.

Oisin also asked the 2012 All Ireland-winning manager whether he is planning to lead Donegal again into 2015 and you can listen to his answer above via the Monday Rewind podcast.
