Despite Ireland's 56-19 win over Italy in their Six Nations clash today, the headlines will be dominated by the injury suffered by Leinster centre Robbie Henshaw and its ramifications for the side.

Henshaw suffered what is suspected to be a dislocated shoulder as he fell awkwardly while touching down his second try of the afternoon. Irish manager Joe Schmidt has said that the full extent of the injury won't be known until tomorrow, when the Athlone man is scheduled in for a scan of the shoulder in question.

"He looked in a  fair bit of discomfort coming off. He's a lot more comfortable now, which is promising. What's not promising is the amount of discomfort he was in. We'll have an update later hopefully, once he's had that scan".

When talking to Off The Ball's Oisin Langan after the game, Bundee Aki was asked how big of a loss Henshaw would be if ruled out for the rest of the tournament.

"If he's not there for the next couple of weeks it is a big loss. He is our leader out in the backline together with some other leaders. I'm sure whoever's stepping up in the 13 jersey or stepping up in the midfield will do a great job just as he has done over the last couple of years."

Ulster's Jacob Stockdale, who scored two tries on the day, was also posed a similar question, and while he agreed that Henshaw absence would be negative, there are other players who can step up and fill the void.

"If it's bad and he can't play next week then he will be a big loss. He's a brilliant player and he does really lead the line well defensively".

"We have a lot of strength and depth in that position. Chris Farrell came in in the November internationals and did a great job, so if he isn't able to play it's a big loss but we have the players to back it up".
