Wayne Rooney's agent Paul Stretford is reportedly in China, speaking to clubs about a potential move for the Manchester United captain.

The Chinese transfer window closes next week on February 28th. Despite Stretford's trip to China, no deal is expected to be completed before the end of the month.

Sky Sports claim that Guangzhou Evergrande, Beijing Guoan, Jiangsu Suning and Tianjin Quanjian are all interested in Manchester United's and England's record goalscorer.

Rooney still has a contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2018, but has found opportunities hard to come by under manager Jose Mourinho. The former Everton striker has been in the shadow of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, scoring five goals this season.

The 31-year-old has struggled in recent months with injuries. He didn't travel with the team to France for the Europa League match against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday night.

With 250 goals scored for Manchester United, and 53 scored for England, breaking both of Bobby Charlton's records, Rooney may be more likely to leave for China, knowing his name is cemented in the club's record books.
