"You know him better than anybody ...  do you back him to score? Quickly, yes or no!"

That was the question put to Kevin Keegan live on TV as he co-commentated the classic 1998 World Cup semi-final between England (who he would manage after then-manager Glenn Hoddle stepped down) and Argentina.

His former Newcastle midfielder David Batty was a couple of second away from taking a pivotal penalty in a nerve-jangling last-16 match which would decide whether England would go to sudden death if he scored or exit if he missed.

That match and Keegan moment featured in our classic matches segment on this week's Team 33:

Keegan, of course, probably felt there was no way he could answer 'no' to legendary late commentator Brian Moore's question when asked about his former player. Instead he replied 'yes' with emphasis.

Unfortunately, Batty would miss as Argentina keeper Carlos Roa made the save which dumped England out.
