On tonight's Off The Ball we're moving on to Part 3 of our Ford Sporting Moments series focusing on the soccer rivalry between Ireland and England.

Tonight, we'll have ex-England goalkeeper Peter Shilton on talking about the Euro 88 and Italia 90 encounters.

Ireland famously won one and drew one of those two clashes, which may have come as a surprise at a time when the Boys in Green were beginning to make their mark on the international scene.

Mick McCarthy was part of those Irish teams, yet a well-known English managerial legend was none too complimentary about his defensive abilities prior to the Stuttgart '88 match.

Shame for him, Ireland got the better of the Three Lions.
