Michigan State University needed overtime to edge Minnesota 75-74 in their Big Ten conference at Williams Arena.
MSU, or the Spartans as they are commonly known, trailed by 13 points at half time and showed immense mental fortitude to overturn the deficit.
"We found a way to win a game with some toughness," said MSU coach Tom Izzo said after the game. "This team hasn’t done that all year.
"That was a hard team to defend," he continued. "They were driving around us, they were going around us, they were taking it to us, drawing fouls right, left and everyway else."
The team celebrated their victory after the game and were also treated to a visit from the mother of coach Izzo, 90-year-old, Dorothy.
Coach Izzo returned to the locker room and announced the arrival of his mother, which was met my rapturous cheers and applause.
