They may look nice at the design phase, but fluorescent kits have their drawbacks.

Peterborough United regularly play in primarily blue, but on Saturday evening they wore their away kit, in the 1-0 loss to Northampton Town in League One.

Midfielder Michael Bostwick played what looked like a simple pass to the left wing, as a stadium steward was walking along the sideline. The ball just rolled out of play, much to the amusement of the Sixways crowd.

It will be interesting to see if the team continue with those kits next year. Those kits makes it easy to see each other on the field, but it always has the risk of leaving players like Bostwick with fluorescent egg on their face.

Peterborough United remain in fifth after the surprising defeat, while Northampton Town moved up to 12th place in the English third-tier.
