Europe has never taken NASCAR to it's hearts.

The American sport has failed to pierce the consciousness of the Irish sporting public as rallying, Formula 1 and MotoGP continue to thrive.

Despite NASCAR's seemingly never ending races around the oval tracks of America, it's hard not to marvel at the bravery of a pit crew last night at the Ford EcoBoost 400 in Miami.

Martin Treux Jr. entered the pit lane for a tyre change as his car went on fire. Despite the flames, his pit crew changed his tyres without hesitating.

The fact that they were wearing fire repellent suits should not take away from their dedication to the job. Treux Jr. finished the race in 12th place.
