England rugby star James Haskell has taken to YouTube to prove, for some reason, that he's not dead.

As it turns out, there have been a number of stories floating around online that claimed that the star was dead or had to quit playing rugby due to a huge scandal, but he decided to refute them first hand.

In a short video posted to his channel, Haskell debunked the bizarre claims, stating that he was not deceased or disgraced, despite what social media would have you believe.

Outlining the nature of the stories, which range from claiming that the England flanker had died of a steroid overdose to that he was selling drugs and had to leave the country, and Haskell did his best to present evidence to show that none of them were true, in particular the ones about him being dead.

"To make perfectly clear, this is something called 'clickbait'," Haskell said. "I feel pretty humbled, actually because they used Tom Brady, the famous NFL player, and JJ Watt, the famous NFL player, and they've bunged my name in the mix, as if that's going to sell your dodgy supplement."

"Rest assured - I'm not dead, I'm not disgraced and for those of you who are a little bit skeptical, we get drug tested all the time. They come at any time of the day. One of them came round the other night while I was eating dinner with my family and he had to sit in the corner and watch something on his iPad.

"For those of you that wish I was dead, better luck next time!," he added.

Then again, this is a post-truth, post-facts world, so how can we believe even this video? It's just like, his opinion that he's not dead, man.
