With no more majors on the horizon in the 2016 tennis season, Rafa Nadal was involved in an exhibition match in his native Majorca.

Playing alongside Simon Solbas, and up against John McEnroe and Carlos Moya in the friendly doubles match, the 14-time Grand Slam winner brought a halt to play.

The reason would become clear very quickly as those in attendance became aware of the plight of an anxious mother in the stands who had become separated from her young child during the match.

Nadal, who had been about to serve, stopped play on the court and looked towards the situation in the stands as the crowd aided the mother in finding her missing child.

Fortunately both were reunited with Nadal grinning broadly at the good news he was witnessing.
