The greatest champions are not the ones that just simply win once.

They seek to win, win again and win better. Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon is one of those people.

He's a World Cup winner for his country already, dating back to the 2006 penalty shootout win over France.

The veteran goalkeeper, who has previously stated his intention to still keep goal at the next World Cup when he will be 40, is also a multiple Serie A title winner for Juventus.

He's won it all but like all the greats, he is never satisfied.

After Germany beat them to a place in the Euro 2016 semi-final after penalties in Bordeaux, Buffon's emotions were raw as he struggled to hold back the tears.

Buffon had an excellent tournament as always, making an outstanding save to deny Mario Gomez from point -blank range when Germany were 1-0 up.

Aided by his Juventus team-mates ahead of him, the Azzurri great only conceded one goal at Euro 2016 - Mesut Ozil's opener - with Salvatore Sirigu in goal when Robbie Brady headed in Ireland's winner in the final Group E match as Buffon was rested.
