Wales have started their hunt for a record three in a row with a nervy win over Italy, at the Millennium Stadium.
The Italians pushed their hosts all the way and pulled within 5 in the final 10 minutes when Michele Campagnaro narrowed the gap with his second try. Campagnaro was exceptional throughout and was duly named Man of the Match.
Wales led 17-3 at half time thanks to tries from Alex Cuthbert and Scott Williams, supplemented by points from the boot of Leigh Halfpenny.
Italy fought back in the second half with a try from Campagnaro in the second minute of the half.
Italy dominated much of the second half and brought the game to 20-15 in the 69th minute. It took a penalty from Halfpenny to settle Welsh nerves as it stretched the lead to 8.
A winning start for Wales, but a worrying one too.
