This week, my European football viewing had a big Serie A flavour to it - almost like those '90s childhood Sundays watching Football Italia when it was still the best league in the world.

While Serie A has slipped off its pedestal, its pretty much the only place you can catch Andrea Pirlo on a regular basis.

Yesterday evening, the Italy legend waited like a fine wine deep into stoppage time before firing in a late, late winner for Juventus in the Turin derby against Torino...

Fortunately Roma kept pace by beating Inter Milan 4 - 2 at the Olimpico. Roberto Mancini did not enjoy it on the Inter bench, but Miralem Pjanic's tasty free-kick...was tasty

And finally, I caught Real Madrid's 2 - 1 win at Malaga just in time to see Cristiano Ronaldo set Gareth Bale loose on goal.

The Welshman finished with aplomb...
