Nemanja Vidic could be on his way back to Manchester United next month according to the Daily Star.

The Serbian defender left for Inter Milan at the end of last season but may be drafted in as cover due to the defensive injury crisis at Old Tafford.

The 33-year-old former team captain has struggled for form since joining the Serie A club.

Vidic's exit from Man United was agreed prior to Louis Van Gaal's appointment as manager. 

However, Vidic's agent Silvano Martina has said that there is no truth to the rumours.
