Will Ferrell is going above and beyond in advance of the release of Anchorman 2. Having already re-adopted his Ron Burgundy persona to comment on the finale of Love/Hate, Ferrell has now had the character weigh in on another subject of public interest: the ongoing saga of Toronto mayor Rob Ford.

Appearing on Conan O'Brien's show earlier this week to promote his forthcoming 'autobiography' Let Me Off at the Top, Burgundy pledged his 'support' to the re-election of Ford - the mayor who admitted smoking crack cocaine earlier this month, and has faced intense public and political pressure ever since. Ferrell was joined by a live band to perform an energetic rendition of Ford's potential re-election song.
