Steven Gerrard has admitted that Los Angeles Galaxy's pursuit of his signature was "pretty aggressive". 

Speaking to LA Galaxy's website, the Liverpool captain explained how his new club attracted him to Major League Soccer.

"Their pursuing me was very aggressive. The talks I've had with them have been pretty positive. They basically told me what I wanted to hear. They told me about the winning mentality at the club and what their aims and goals are for the future,"  

The 34-year-old also highlighted the off the field benefits for him and his family.

"There's obviously a huge bonus involved as well where LA Galaxy are located. That would be nice for the family to come out of our comfort zone and try something different. It's really exciting both on and off the pitch."
