It premiered at the Venice Film Festival to extremely enthusiastic reviews. It has so far attracted 100% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. The Atlantic says it puts "most recent Hollywood blockbusters to shame". Stephanie Zacharek states "I haven't yet fully recovered".

Perhaps the highest praise of all, however, came from Avatar director James Cameron. Talking to Variety, Cameron proclaims "I was stunned, absolutely floored... I think it’s the best space film ever done, and it’s the movie I’ve been hungry to see for an awful long time."

Warner Bros. has released a full trailer for the film, which follows a pair of astronauts adrift in space after their ship is destroyed during a spacewalk. Those lucky enough to have a 2K capable monitor or television can watch the clip below in super HD (for extra vertigo).

Gravity will be released in Ireland on 8th November. It's directed by Alfonso Cuaron of Children of Men fame, and stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. We, frankly, can't wait.
