It took quite some time for the ball to find its way to Corn Elder of the Miami Hurricanes, but once it did, he had eyes only for the endzone.

The Hurricanes were coming off the worst loss in their history following a 58-0 drubbing last week which was followed by the sacking of their head coach. You might say they needed a boost heading into their game against Duke and they got just that.

Duke must have felt like they were on their way to a win having just rallied from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit to take a three-point lead with only six seconds remaining on the clock. Miami knew they did not have time for a "Hail Mary" and opted instead for the rarely seen option of lateraling their way out of trouble.

Elder explained to ESPNU, "We just wanted to keep the ball alive ... We've got a bunch of playmakers and we made a play."

It brings back memories of the "Music City Miracle" when the Tennessee Titans pulled off a miraculous comeback to defeat the Buffalo Bills in astonishing fashion. They had just three laterals, however, and Miami's heroics might just take the Titans' place in the greatest plays in the history of the sport.
