If you need any evidence of the Premier League's global reach, then this story from Vietnam illustrates it perfectly.

Arsenal have been on tour in the Far East and their last stop saw them play a Vietnam XI in Hanoi.

Like many of the top English and Spanish clubs, the Gunners are hugely popular in Asia, with fans often ignoring their own local clubs - not something to celebrate admittedly - in favour of European glamour.

But one determined supporter proved he is Vietnam's biggest Arsenal fan as he ran alongside the team bus for an impressive five miles in a bid to meet his heroes.

Cheered on by the Arsenal players on board, he did not let up the pace (with the aid of a kind-hearted motorcyclist) and was rewarded for his efforts when Arsene Wenger's squad let him clamber aboard.

To be perfectly honest, the youngster probably covered more miles than Andrei Arshavin did on the field during his brief Arsenal career and seems to match the age range of many of Arsene Wenger's recruits, so a move cannot be totally ruled out.

Of course he is not the only overly-dedicated sports fan on this planet. In the US this guy is clearly a huge fan of Argentinian basketball star Manu Ginobili - so much so that he has an image of the San Antonio Spurs man shaved into the back of his head.

Tattoos are often a means of showing one's affection for a team, and for the most part they are nothing short of terrible. It's even worse when the tattoo artist can't spell to save his life...

This one is brilliant though, mainly because it features the legend that is Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.
