The third round of the US Open will get underway soon at Merion Club in Pennsylvania, with an earlier than usual start scheduled to make up for time lost to poor weather.
Irish amateur Kevin Phelan is one of the first to tee off today as the field goes back out in groups of three at a start time of 5.30pm Irish time. Phelan starts today’s round on 8 over, with a bogey on the 18th of the second round.
Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are both on 3 over, just 4 off the leaders – Billy Horschel and Phil Mickelson (pictured), both sitting on 1 under.
Padraig Harrington finished his 2nd round this morning on 4 over.
Darren Clarke and Graeme McDowell both missed the cut.
