Wexford's Adam Nolan has lost his bout at the Word Championships in Kazakhstan.
The welter weight lost by split decision to Souleymane Cissokho of France in the first round of the tournaments.
It was Ireland's first defeat of the championships after Tommy McCarthy, Ray Moylette and Sean McComb advanced from their encounters over the past couple of days.
Ireland coach Billy Walsh felt Nolan was desperately unlucky to lose out on the judges' decision.
"We're disappointed. He started off very well and clearly won the first round. I felt he didn't lose the second round or the last round, matching [Cissokho] in every round," said Walsh.
