Leinster prop Cian Healy has been suspended for two weeks after being cited for an incident in Saturday's Guinness Pro 12 win over Connacht.

The Ireland international had been charged with dangerous play at the ruck following the 37-24 at the Sportsground, resulting in a disciplinary hearing in Edinburgh this evening.

The range of punishments go from two weeks (lower end) to six weeks or 10 weeks for top end infringements.

Ultimately, the disciplinary panel made up of Pamela Woodman, Kathrine Mackie and Roddy MacLeod ruled that the offence was of a lower entry nature and has been suspended for two weeks.

He will available for action again on May 1st.

In a statement, the Pro 12 confirmed: "The complaint was for an act of foul play under Law 10.4 (h) – A player must not charge into a ruck; and Law 10.4 (k) – Dangerous play at the ruck.

"The player contested the complaint, however, the Disciplinary Committee, Pamela Woodman (Chair), Kathrine Mackie and Roddy MacLeod (all Scotland) agreed that the player had committed an act of foul play worthy of a red card under Law 10.4 (h).

"The Panel decided the offence was at the lower-entry point and sanctioned the player to a two-week suspension. The player can return to play on Monday, May 1, 2017 and was reminded of his right to appeal."
