It was today revealed that TV3 has bought the rights to create an Irish version of Channel 4’s hit show.

Gogglebox, which makes TV loving couch potatoes its star, will now be giving Irish viewers a chance to wax lyrical about what's on the box.

The Channel 4 show features British couples, families and friends sitting in their living rooms watching weekly television shows.

The rights to the show have been already been sold to Chinese, Ukrainian, Canadian and American broadcasters.

The announcement was made today when the station launched its new schedule which also includes a brand new Irish soap to replace Coronation Street, which they are set to lose the soap when UTV come to Ireland.

Red Rock is set to air two episodes a week from January 2015. The police drama is said to be based in a fictional seaside Dublin town and will employ 100 people.

TV3 has acquired exclusive rights to air X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent and will also air the 2015 Rugby World Cup exclusively.
