Andrew Trimble was a lot of people’s picks to make a last minute push for Declan Kidney’s opening Six Nations squad, with last Friday's outing for The Irish Wolfhounds seen as his chance to make the vital case for his inclusion.
The Ulster man was left disappointed by Kidney’s selection however and finds himself from the outside looking in as Ireland prepare for the game with Wales at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday.
Trimble was talking to Oisin Langan earlier today and spoke about his view on Kidney’s decision to omit him from the squad, how he can work his way back into the squad and, beyond national duty, the immediate prospects for Ulster in the RaboDirect Pro12 and Heineken Cup.
