Italian rider Matteo Trentin has won the 14^th stage of the Tour de France today, winning his first ever Tour stage.

Trentin, a teammate of Mark Cavendish and member of the Omega Pharma-Quick Step team, won a sprint finish, following a breakaway by a group of 18 riders.

Chris Froome retained his overall lead for the Tour, finishing some six minutes behind Trentin but alongside his main rivals in the peloton.
