On the weekend of May 25 & 26 one of the true legends of cycling will join pros and amateur cyclists for a weekend of top class cycling in Galway, at the Tour de Conamara. Bernard Hinault, a five time Tour de France champion and the only man to win all three grand tours (Tour de France, Giro D’Italia & Vuelta a Espana) at least twice, will join the field for a weekend of cycling across the scenic Connemara landscape.

The weekend’s activities will consist of events aimed at giving everyone an opportunity for participation, with the main event on Saturday the 140km Sportive, with the option of an 80km Sportive also available, paired with a 40km team time trial sprint on the Sunday. With 10 available categories of competition, the 40km sprint will accommodate both the serious and casual competitors. A family funathon on Sunday also aims to maximise participation at the event as it caters for families who wish to get involved.

More information on the weekend’s activities is available at www.tourdeconamara.ie
