The main Sportif event will take place on Saturday the 25th, with participants having the option of either an 80km or 140km route around Connemara. The courses have been selected by former international cyclist and TG4 commentator Pádraic Quinn, with both routes starting and finishing in Clifden. Five times Tour de France winner Bernard Hinault, who also took part in last year’s event, will be participating.

The Tour de Conamara is part of the Celtic Series of cycling events, encompassing a selection of annual events in Ireland, Wales, Brittany, France and Scotland.

Sunday 26th of May will see a Team Time Trial event - a 40km challenge with teams of between 3 and 5 cyclists competing in a variety of categories such as corporate & workplace teams. The entry fee of €100 per team for the time trials will be donated directly to Cancer Care West.
