Tottenham have published a statement on their official website stressing that they have not contacted any club regarding coaching appointments.

Dutch side Ajax say they have been spoken to about the availability of boss Frank de Boer.

The Ajax manager himself claimed that he was aware of Tottenham making an approach for him.

Spurs deny that, calling the reports "wholly inaccurate".

"Reports that we have made approaches to other clubs regarding coaching staff are wholly inaccurate. We have NOT contacted any club regarding coaching appointments," said a brief statement on the website.

Tim Sherwood is currently the head coach but it is widely expected he will be replaced in the summer.
