Kerry legend Tomas O'Se was at launch of Newstalk's GAA Championship coverage and Breakfast's Oisin Langan took the opportunity to gauge the right half back's views on the Kingdom's chances this summer.

The league campaign was fraught with problems as Kerry diced with relegation, but O'Se believes there were mitigating circumstances.

"We were coming under new management, lads were coming back from club commitments with Dr Crokes and we tried a lot of new young fellas. You have to try them out in the league because you can't do that in the Championship. We got what we wanted out of it and it was important to get those couple of wins towards the end," he said.

But he believes that the Kingdom could not have been too happy with the performances exhibited at the start of the year but he hopes that is now "out of the system."

And he feels that the experience will benefit the newcomers to the panel...
