Tipperary's Colin O'Riordan has given his first interview since joining the Sydney Swans in the AFL.

The 20-year-old dual star signed a two year international rookie deal with the Swans in October. He is looking to emulate Kerry's Tadhg Kennelly who won an AFL Grand Final with the same team.

O'Riordan was part of the Tipperary Under 21 football and hurling teams this year. He has had nothing for praise for the treatment received from Kennelly since making the move. "The last time I was over, Tadhg was like a father to me. He’d bring you around and do everything. You can have nothing but high praise for Tadhg and if you achieve half the success Tadhg achieved, you’d be going well."

The JK Bracken Brackens' clubman is hoping to emulate current Irish players in the AFL. "Pierce Hanley and Zach Tuohy are big inspirations. You just want to try and emulate what they are doing for their clubs. Hopefully, I can continue the Irish contingency here in Sydney".

O'Riordan begins pre-season training next week with his new team mates. You can watch the interview here.
