When it comes to combat sports, it probably helps if you despise your opponent to some degree - as long as it does not cloud your judgement.

That definitely seems to be the case with the UFC's Conor McGregor ahead of his fight with American Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas tomorrow night.

The Dubliner had already clearly riled Poirier in the build up, with the latter saying that he had "never disliked anybody as much".  

But today's media day was even more tense as they came close to having a little pre-fight scrap:
