Just days after John O'Shea scored a famous equaliser for Ireland in Gelsenkirchen, he has now signed a two-year contract extension at Sunderland.

The 33-year old defender joined the Stadium of Light club in 2011 and has made 97 appearances so far for the Black Cats.

O'Shea's new deal takes him up to the summer of 2017.
