Rafael Nadal has become the highest profile casualty to exit this year's Wimbledon.

The two-time winner, seeded 10th this year, lost his second round match in four sets to German qualifier Dustin Brown, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Jamaica-born Brown, who has never advanced beyond the third round at Wimbledon, took the first set before Nadal battled back to tie the match.

However, the Spaniard lost the next two sets to continue a bad run at the Grand Slam where he has not advanced to the quarter-finals since 2011 when he reached the final.

Earlier, Andy Murray was an easy winner, and he is joined in the last-32 by Britain's James Ward.

But British number two Aljaz Bedene is out.

Roger Federer and reigning champion Petra Kvitova also won today.
