The IRFU appoint advisers for the 2023 World Cup bid

The IRFU's bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup has taken another significant step with the announcement of the bid advisers.

Today's Irish Times reports that Deloitte will manage the bid on behalf of the IRFU. Their London branch have previously worked on the London 2012 Olympic Games and are currently working on this years Rugby World Cup that starts later this month in England.

Kevin Potts, the IRFU Chief Operating Officer told the Irish Times, that the bid team wanted any advisers involved to have previously worked on a winning bit for an international sporting event.

“They are world class, they have all done this before, they are all committed to this and they are all part of one team now,” added Mr Potts.

The appointment adds to the ever increasing bid team that include former Tanaiste Dick Spring as the Chairman of the World Cup bid and Brian O'Driscoll as the ambassador.
