This Saturday's World Cup final between New Zealand and Australia will mark the final time fans will see the iconic Rugby World Cup logo after World Rugby yesterday revealed a new logo for the World Cup in Japan in 2019.

Variations of the current logo have been used since the 1991 World Cup, with the famous rugby ball, being placed on a green and blue background to originally represent the pitch and the sky.

As the dates were confirmed for Japan's hosting of the 2019 World Cup in London yesterday, the log was revealed showing Mount Fuji and the Rising Sun along with the World Rugby logo. It looks like that future World Cup logos will be personalised by the host nation.
