It is 25 years since 96 Liverpool fans died needlessly at a football game - the FA cup semi-final in Sheffield against Nottingham forest has lived in infamy not just because it was avoidable but also because further injustice was perpetrated on the victims by cover-ups, false accusations and a complete lack of transparency. 25 years on from the Hillsborough disaster the families of those who died hope they’re finally going to get justice as a newly opened inquest is underway.
Off the Ball spoke with David Conn of the Guardian on Saturday afternoon, to hear about how the recently opened inquests into the tragedy are progressing. Before that, the tragic events of that dark day in April 1989 were remembered.
