The IRFU today announced details of a squad and laid out the path that will be required to reach next years Olympic Games in Rio.

Over 300 players took part in open try outs for the squad, with a final squad of 26 being announced today at the Aviva Stadium.

Ireland's return to the men's Sevens arena begins in Bosnia and Herzegovina in under a fortnights time in Rugby Europe's Men's Division C tournament.

Anthony Eddy is the IRFU's Director of Sevens Rugby and spoke today to Dave McIntryre at the launch.

He started by explaining how the team is full of players with rugby experience with a lack of athletes from other sports, including Gaelic Games.
