After missing the final black for a 147-break last December, the same fate befell Thepchaiya Un-Nooh on Tuesday in the World Championship Qualifiers.

The Thai player was facing Anthony McGill in Sheffield when he looked on course to complete the first maximum break of his career. After potting fifteen reds and fifteen blacks successfully, Un-Nooh succesfully reached the black after potting the remain balls but missed again.

In December at the UK Championships, the 30-year-old was facing former World Champion Neil Robertson when he missed the final black and lost the chance of a share of £44,000. Coincidentally, Robertson added insult to injury by completing a maximum break in the next round.

Un-Nooh trailed McGill 6-3 after their first session. The first to win ten-frames books their place in the World Championship first round.
