A teenage Syrian refugee who survived more than a month at sea on her way to Europe is now hoping to compete in this summer's Olympics.

Yusra Mardini survived bombings in her home country - but has since been training at her local pool in Germany.

The 17-year-old butterfly swimmer describes her busy schedule:

"Two classes or three [in school]. After that, I went training for two hours. After that, 45 minutes of eating. After that, two classes, or three, of school again. Then there's second [swimming] training, and sometimes I have athletics before."

Mardini is hoping to swim for a special refugees' team at Rio.
