Ireland prop Tadhg Furlong is enjoying his time in camp with the Lions as he builds relationships with new front-row colleagues.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar season which included playing a prominent role in Ireland's win over New Zealand in Chicago last November.

The Ireland international has been helping some of his new teammates with the pronunciation of his name as he gets to know them.

"The lads are busy trying to get my name right just at the moment," he said. "Some of the lads up front asked me 'how do you pronounce it?' whereas others just said 'how are you doing big fella?'

"Some of them have made some bad attempts, there have been 'Tad', 'Tud', 'Tog', 'Tad' has probably been the most common.

"I find Dan Cole hilarious, he has a dry sense of humour – he is quite witty. So around the dinner table and the hanging around the place he has been very funny.

"Tighthead props, you are very rarely going to play the full 80 minutes so there is no holding back information.

"We are there to better the squad, more often than not it is a 50-30 or 60-20 split so you have to be open and honest about it and get on with it," he added.

The squad is due to depart for New Zealand next week ahead of their first tour match on June 3rd.
