Manchester City v Tottenham 1.30pm

It has been a rough week for Roberto Mancini"s side after two disappointing draws against West Ham and Ajax.

However the Sky Blues remain unbeaten as they prepare to host Andre Villas Boas" Spurs.

And their cause is helped by the potential return of talisman David Silva who has been out for the last month with a hamstring injury.

But Mancini will be without Micah Richards (knee) , James Milner and Jack Rodwell (both hamstring) today.

Hat-trick heroics

AVB could be tempted to give Jermain Defoe a rest after his hat-trick heroics against Maribor in the Europa League.

If he is given a break, Emmanuel Adebayor will be in line for his first league start of the season.

However Tottenham will not be able to call on the services of Mousa Dembele, Scott Parker, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul.

Predictions: 2 - 1

Newcastle v West Ham 3pm

Both of these sides will be hopeful of finding themselves in the Top Six with a win today.

The ten-man Magpies nabbed a creditable point at Anfield last Sunday but will count the cost as centre-half Fabricio Coloccini serves a suspension for his red card in that game.

Naughty step

He is joined on the naughty step by Cheick Tiote who will complete his own three-game suspension today.

James Perch is out while Danny Simpson is doubtful.

Likewise, the Hammers held out for a draw when they hosted champions Manchester City last weekend.

West Ham have a few injury concerns at the back with James Collins and James Tomkins doubttful.

However Matthew Taylor, Jack Collinson and Ricardo Vaz Te are definitely out as Andy Carroll marks a return to his hometown club.

Prediction: 1 - 0

Chelsea v Liverpool 4pm

Another former hero returns to old pastures. Fernando Torres is in line to start against his former club Liverpool despite indifferent form.

John Terry could also return to the starting line-up after serving a 4-game suspension for racial abuse.

However injuries force Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard to sit out this fixture.

Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson is also returning to his former club having recovered from a hamstring injury and he could be rejoined by Pepe Reina who has struggled with a similar problem in recent weeks.

A win for the Blues will keep them one point off top-of-the-table Manchester United while the Top Ten may still be out of reach for the Reds this week even with a victory.

Prediction: 1 - 1
