Stoke City have completed the signing of Switzerland winger Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan.

The 23-year-old, who scored a hat-trick against Honduras at last summer's World Cup, spent the second half of last season in Italy after leaving Bayern Munich due to a lack of game time.

Stoke have agreed a £12M fee with Inter, although personal terms with the player have yet to be agreed.

Shaqiri has over 40 caps for Switzerland, scoring 17 goals and the former FC Basel youth academy graduate is regarded as one of the best of a talented generation of players produced by the Alpine nation.

Everton were also believed to be keen on sealing a deal for the attacking talent.
