Henrik Stenson has made history on the golf course by becoming the first player to win both the Race to Dubai crown and the FedEx Cup in the same season.

Stenson completed the double today when he won the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, with a final score, and tournament record, of 25 under par giving a comfortable six shot win over nearest challenger Ian Poulter. The Swede finished off with a final bogey free round of 64, with 6 birdies and an eagle.

US Open champion Justin Rose could have won the Race to Dubai with a win this weekend, but finished in tenth place.
Stenson’s recent good form has capped a remarkable return to the top of the golfing world as he slipped to below 230th in the world less than 2 years ago.
